Gorilla Safari Tours in Rwanda are amazing tours taking you to Kigali for a city tour, Dian Fossey grave site, Volcanoes National Park, the home for gorillas in Rwanda and Nyungwe Forest National Park for Chimpanzee and other primates’ tracking
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali, Rwanda
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, our tour guide will receive you and immediately transfer you to Parc Nationale Des Volcans, a park in Rwanda where mountain gorillas live and Rwanda Gorilla Safaris are commonly done. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Nest lodge, Lapalme Hotel or Muhabura Hotel (Full Board)
Day 2: Rwanda Gorilla Safari
This is a day for a long-awaited Gorilla Safari in the Volcanoes park. Depending on the level of fitness, you may be allocated gorilla families that do not involve much hiking. The closest being about 2 hours or even a couple of minutes from the park office. After this amazing gorilla tracking Safari, return to the lodge for lunch, later dinner and overnight at the Mountain Gorillas’ Nest Lodge or Hotel Chez Lando or Kinigi guest house. (FB)
Day 3: Hike to Dian Fossey Grave site
Have an early morning hike and start hiking to Dian Fossey Grave and Karisoke Research Centre, a hub for gorilla research and conservation activities. This is where Dr. Fossey, a renowned primatologist spent close to two decades habituating, studying and conserving the endangered Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. Overnight at the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge in Kinigi or Hotel Chez Lando or Kinigi Guest House. (FB)
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Take a morning breakfast and transfer to Nyungwe Forest, a dwelling zone for chimps in Rwanda. This Forest contains a variety of habitats including montane forest, bamboo, grasslands, swamps and bogs, and is very mountainous too. It provides some of the best Golden Monkey trekking in Rwanda. Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking Rwanda
After breakfast, start the morning Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest in search of colonies of habituated Golden Monkeys. Other wildlife in the forest include: grey-cheeked mangabeys, blue monkeys, Angolan colobus, L’hoest’s monkeys and owl-faced monkeys. Meals and overnight at Gisakura Guest House.
Day 6: Drive Back to Kigali
In the morning after breakfast, set off for Kigali where you will arrive in the afternoon or evening. Lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel Des Millecollines.
Day 7: Genocide Memorial Visit, Fly out of Kigali
Visit the Genocide Memorial Centre where remains of thousands of Tutsis and moderate Hutus that were killed during the horrific 1994 genocide are preserved. After the Kigali city tour and Lunch, transfer to the airport for your next flight
