Full Rwanda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: You will arrive at Kigali International Airport
On arrival at Kigali Airport, our representative will be readily available to receive you and he will transfer you to a hotel in Kigali. Dinner and overnight stay at Flame Tree Village – Deluxe, Serena Hotel – Luxury, Garr Hotel – Budget.
Day 2: Enjoy a City tour before driving to Volcanoes National Park.
In the morning, you may choose to do a city tour of Kigali and visit the genocide memorial site, national museum and many more. After enjoying lunch, take on a charming drive to Volcanoes national park, home to the mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Upon arrival at the park, you may decide to take a cultural dance. Devote the sunset hours at Iby’wachu Cultural Village where you will study further about the Rwandan cultural styles and their customs. Have dinner and overnight at the luxurious Mountain Gorilla view Lodge, the moderate Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge or Muhabura Hotel – Budget.
Day 3: Do Gorilla Trekking plus an after lunch Nature Walk.
At sunrise, have breakfast and be present to briefs from the park rangers. Your trip guide will transfer you to the initial point of the mountain gorilla path beside with other trekkers. On coming across the gorillas, use at least an hour shooting photos and witnessing their captivating gymnastics. Later on, return to the accommodation for moderation. In the evening after lunch, you may perhaps do a cultural walk, during which you will be kept amused by the community of Banyarwanda. You may as well go for a nature walk to the caves and lakes. Overnight and dinner like at day 2.
Day 4: Dian Fossey Hike and transfer to Lake Kivu.
At daybreak, you may take on a hike to research centre at Karisoke set up by Dian Fossey, a distinguished mountain gorilla conservationist. Study about the accomplishments of Dian Fossey regarding the gorilla preservation. On arrival from the hike, you will set off to Lake Kivu. Overnight and dinner at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel – Luxury, Stipp Hotel – Deluxe or Paradise Malahide – Budget.
Day 5: Drive to Nyungwe Forest.
After a warm breakfast, set off for Nyungwe Forest with some stop overs along the way for photo-taking and lunch break. You will have overnight and dinner at Nyungwe Forest Lodge – Luxury or at Nyungwe Top View Hotel, which is a Deluxe accommodation.
Day 6: Return to Kigali after a wonderful Cultural walk.
After a morning meal, drive off to the park head offices for briefing followed by chimpanzee tracking in the thick forest. Later on, return to Kigali, time allowing, you would have an en route stopover to the Nyanza King’s Palace, the National Museums at Butare or and Genocide Memorial Site at Murambi.
